Listening Session
DJ set with...: Thibaut de Ruyter
19:00 – 21:00
mono Listening Café | Rheinische Str. 32 Dortmund
Free admission
What does an exhibition about global trade flows, industrial production and the ‘New Silk Roads’ sound like? In the next instalment of ‘Spinning Records with…’, Thibaut de Ruyter explores the INDUSTRIAL. Silk Roads 3000 exhibition through music. The evening will take place at the MONO Listening Café.
As co-curator of the exhibition, de Ruyter knows its stories, settings and connections like no other. For the evening, he translates these into a personal selection of records, moving between industrial sounds and ethno-pop, machine rhythms and musical finds from different regions. The result is a soundtrack that opens up new ways of engaging with the exhibition and extends its themes onto vinyl.
The event is being held in collaboration with Black Plastic and the MONO Listening Café.
