The “Satellite Voyeurism” workshop critically explores questions surrounding the production and reception of satellite images.

In addition to public lectures by international media artists, committed researchers and representatives of commercial geodata providers from the region, the programme includes a two-day hands-on workshop for up to 12 participants.

During the practical part of the workshop, participants will learn how satellite images from NOAA satellites can be received using a computer, sound card and antenna. They will also have the opportunity to discuss their own ideas and projects with fellow participants.

Both the lectures and the workshop address questions concerning the visual qualities of satellite imagery. The programme also explores related topics such as locative media, GPS and GIS.

Further information and the programme are available on the German website. The workshop will be held in German.
