Phoenix Safari is the title of a botanical guided tour through the PHOENIX site led by Klaus-Jürgen Conze, biologist and animal ecologist (Essen).

The Phoenix Safari relates to the media art exhibition “The Wonderful World of irational.org”, currently on view at PHOENIX Halle. In the exhibition, the artists have developed, among other things, a “superweed” that is resistant to conventional herbicides.

Klaus-Jürgen Conze will introduce participants to the unique ecosystem of the post-industrial PHOENIX West site and explain the characteristics of the soil based on wild-growing plants found in the area.

The tour offers a fascinating excursion into a world where nature is reclaiming a former industrial site.

Following the Phoenix Safari, a guided tour of the exhibition “The Wonderful World of irational.org” will take place at 4 pm in PHOENIX Halle.
