Workshop: Mobile Dreams
11:00 – 18:00
Ebene 3
Free admission
‘Mobile Dreams’ is a mobile phone camera film workshop organised by the Hartware MedienKunstVerein with Caspar Walbeck as part of the exhibition “Barbara Breitenfellner: Dream of an Exhibition” and the International Women’s Film Festival in Dortmund.
Dreams – a succession of fleeting, intangible images that flood our minds at night, sometimes pleasant, sometimes melancholic, sometimes eerie, and always strangely alienating. Behind this elusive phenomenon of dreaming lies a unique visual form and aesthetic that vanishes from our memory just as quickly as it appeared.
We want to capture this visual form, making it tangible and visible – using your mobile phone!
Inspired by the current exhibition at the HMKV, this workshop explores the visual language of dreams. Whilst Barbara Breitenfellner brings her dreams to life spatially within an installation in the exhibition, we will be searching for cinematic ways to depict dreams, testing the capabilities of our mobile phone cameras’ video functions in the process. Along the way, we’ll explore techniques of cinematic storytelling and discover how to get creative with a mobile phone camera.
Bring along your mobile phone with video capability or a Mini-DV camera!
Anyone aged between 0 and 99 is welcome to take part. Refreshments will be provided. Participation is free of charge!
