KoLab Days: Dance Machine – 9 & 10 May 2025

“Dance Machine” is motion capture & choreography, sonification & improvisation, AI tracking & movement patterns. Dance Machine is the theme of the first KoLab Days in 2025: Can machines be used artistically as an extension of the physical body? What new possibilities arise when tracking is combined with theatre, dance and performance?
How can we work creatively and conceptually with these new possibilities to bring digital and physical worlds closer together?

Dance Machine (KoLab Days) invites artists from fields such as theatre, dance, 3D, sound, music and creative coding to explore these questions together. Through workshops, performances and artist talks, we’ll delve into topics such as motion patterns, body tracking, dance visualisation and dance sonification. Workshops will be offered on MaxMSP, Unreal Engine and p5.js, amongst others. Afterwards, we invite anyone interested to join us for our networking evenings on the respective days.
