The days are getting shorter again and the sun is making far fewer appearances – a good reason to pay it some special attention! After all, the sun is the most important source of energy for life on Earth: it provides us with light and warmth, enables plants to grow, and has even been worshipped as a goddess in many cultures.

In the exhibition ‘Comrade Sun’, you’ll discover exciting artworks centred on the theme of the sun and be inspired to create your own artistic pieces and conduct scientific experiments. Using printmaking and collage techniques, you’ll design imaginative sun masks and create your own backdrops for brilliant souvenir photos. But you won’t just become ‘Sun Kings and Queens’ – you’ll also become little researchers: Through exciting experiments, you’ll discover how plants convert sunlight into energy, what happens when you hold a solar panel up to the light, and whether you can make sunbeams sing.

By the end, you’ll be real sun experts and the sun will be your new friend.
