Sat 04.09.2010 Display Workshop mit Olaf Val

The Display Workshop is a two-day workshop for up to 12 participants aged 16 and over, led by Olaf Val (Kassel) and organised by the Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV).

Participants assemble identical display modules from a kit, each featuring a 5 × 7 LED dot matrix. They then program their modules individually before combining them into a collective wall installation at the end of the workshop. Once installed, the modules are networked with one another, creating an interactive system in which the individual programs influence each other. The resulting, often unpredictable interactions make it fascinating to observe the dynamic patterns and behaviours that emerge from the group's combined work.
