The Loop-Labor
10:00 – 15:00
Ebene 3
Free admission
Do you have a favourite song that you listen to over and over again from the start? Do you listen to it loudly or quietly? With friends or on your own? In the Loop Lab, we’ll talk together about the patterns and rhythms we encounter in music – and become music producers ourselves!
We’ll collect the sounds for our tracks ourselves: Equipped with headphones, audio recorders and microphones, we’ll explore the area around the Dortmunder U and collect sounds to experiment with – on the synthesiser, mixing desk, microphone, various instruments and using different software. In the process, you’ll also get to know the technique of looping better. You can even enhance your music visually with digital illustrations and animations. The result will be individual pieces or a large-scale Gesamtkunstwerk – it’s up to you!
The project is taking place as part of the HMKV exhibition *Holding Pattern – Waiting Loops and Other Loops* (15 March – 27 July 2025).
Daily from 10.00 – 15.00
For children and young people aged 12–16

Led by: Andrea Rings and Sascha Wundes
